Please read the following contraindications carefully before using the iMooie IPL device to ensure your safety and the effectiveness of the treatment:
- Age Restriction: Do not use if you are under the age of 18. The effects in this age group are unknown.
- Skin Condition: Do not use on tanned or burned skin, as this may result in temporary or permanent skin whitening or darkening.
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Do not use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding. Hormonal changes during these periods can increase the risk of injury or skin sensitivity.
- Epilepsy and Light Sensitivity: Do not use if you have epilepsy, light-induced seizures, or migraines. The energy flashes may trigger severe headaches or migraines.
- Tattoos and Dark Spots: Do not use on tattoos, dark brown or black spots such as dark freckles, birthmarks, moles, or warts. These areas may absorb too much light energy, causing skin swelling, blisters, or discoloration.
- Sensitive Areas: Do not use on the head, ears, neck, nipples, genitals, or around the anus, as this could cause skin swelling, blisters, or discoloration.
- Active Skin Conditions: Do not use on areas with active skin conditions such as acne, sores, psoriasis, eczema, burns, herpes simplex, wounds, or rashes. If these conditions have healed, consult with your doctor before use.
- History of Keloid Scars and Light Sensitivity: Do not use if you have a history of keloid scars, known sensitivity to light (photosensitivity), or are taking medications that increase light sensitivity, including non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents (e.g., aspirin, ibuprofen), tetracycline, phenothiazine, thiazide diuretics, sulfonylureas, sulphonamides, DTIC, fluorouracil, vinblastine, griseofulvin, Alpha-Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Beta-Hydroxy Acids (BHAs), Retin-A, Accutane, or topical retinoids.
- Photosensitivity Diseases: Do not use if you have diseases related to photosensitivity, such as porphyria, polymorphic light eruption, solar urticaria, or lupus. These conditions can make the treatment uncomfortable or cause skin swelling, blisters, or infections.
